PCORI Fee for Plan Year 2014

This July, plan sponsors of certain health plans will once again need to file with the IRS and pay a fee levied by the Affordable Care Act. Intended to help fund the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, this fee—called the PCORI fee—is calculated using the average number of lives covered under a health plan. The rate per covered life depends on the health plan’s 2014 end date.

Regardless of the health plan’s 2014 end date, IRS Form 720 must be filed and the fee paid no later than July 31, 2015.
